My name is Tom Doran and welcome to my web page. I was introduced to the game of golf at 6 years of age and joined Delamere Forest Golf Club where I have been a member ever since. Quickly I found that I had both a love for the game and some natural ability.
I won a number of local events and represented Cheshire at all age levels and progressed to taking a golf scholarship with William Woods University based in Fulton, Missouri. In America I placed highly with numerous top 10’s including a run of 2nd, 4th, 2nd in consecutive events. One of the highlights was being a part of the William Woods team that won regional qualifying and got through to National finals in Arizona for our college division. America was a fantastic experience and I was able to compete across the US from East to West.
During my time at William Woods I reached Final Open Qualifying progressing through from West Lancs.
On returning from America I competed in a number of Pro events as an amateur and top three finishes convinced me that it was the time to “give it a go” and turn professional, leaving the amateur game with an on course playing handicap of +4 at Delamere.
I am delighted to be affiliated to Delamere Forest as a professional member which will always be “home” and to be a professional member at Royal Liverpool.
My intention is to work my way up the golfing ladder. It will be hard work, which I relish, and I am really excited for the challenges that lie ahead.
To my sponsors, coaches, family, friends and supporters thank you for joining on me on this journey, let’s enjoy it…….
